This wonderful vintage mirror is recreated from an old, oblong blondel frame, with a magical atmosphere and a unique look guaranteed to become the jewel of any interior. The frame was first painted dark brown in several coats. This base coat gives the mirror depth and rich character, while providing the basis for the unique contrast of the following coats of paint.
I covered the dark brown base with light blue paint, which I gently wiped back to bring the blue colour back from the recesses. This technique creates a special antiqued effect, as if the mirror has kept its patina for years. The interplay of light blue and dark brown colours creates both a calming and nostalgic feel, making the mirror a truly stand-out piece in any room.
I highlighted the frame's decorations with gold paint to give it an elegant shimmer and exclusive look. The gold details give a sophisticated shine that harmonises perfectly with the light blue colour and gives a luxurious feel. This gold finish is particularly pronounced on the frame's classic blondel pattern, highlighting its artistic value and the mirror's true vintage character.
As a final step, I sealed the surface with silk gloss parquet sheets to protect the paint and give it a durable, glossy finish. The lacquer gives the mirror a subtle silk sheen that elegantly reflects the light while maintaining the rustic character of the frame.
This vintage mirror is the perfect choice for those who want a unique, handmade piece in their home that both tells a story of the past and blends in with modern interiors. Place it in your living room, bedroom or hallway and let this beautiful mirror bring a special charm to your everyday life.
