This medium sized, stunningly beautiful vintage mirror was reborn from an old Blondel picture frame, striking the perfect balance between classic elegance and modern craftsmanship. The base is painted with a Tuscan Olive shade of HH chalk paint, which gives the frame a calming and harmonious look with its warm, natural tone. This colour provided an excellent base for additional layers that added depth and texture to the piece.
I covered the Tuscan olive base colour with grey, which I gently rubbed back. Thanks to this technique, the grey colour is subtly brought out from the deeper parts, beautifully accentuating the richly decorated patterns on the frame. This antiqued effect gives the mirror a unique character, as if telling the story of decades. The soft harmony of colours perfectly complements the vintage style, while providing a timeless look.
I highlighted the decorations with white and gold to give the frame additional elegance and shine. The white colour gives a fresh, clean feel, while the gold details add a luxurious touch.
