This wonderful old cabinet has been given a new look, in a vintage style that combines classic and exotic elements in a unique way. The cabinet has undergone a thorough preparation process, including sanding and priming to ensure that the paint and special embellishments adhere perfectly to the surface, ensuring that the end result is durable and aesthetically pleasing.
The centrepiece of the door is a stunning white parrot pattern that evokes the tropics. I applied the pattern using an image transfer technique, which ensures that the details of the parrot appear sharp and subtle on the surface, as if it were a painting. The white parrot, which evokes a tropical atmosphere, contrasts with the Cactus Green shade of the rest of the cabinet, which exudes naturalness and freshness.
I softened and blended the background of the parrot pattern using a pittorico technique to blend harmoniously with the cabinet as a whole. This technique creates a subtly blurred effect that creates a harmony between the parrot and the surrounding decor, as if the pattern becomes part of the furniture as a whole. Using the pittorico technique, I further refined and complemented the patterns to give the cabinet an even more lifelike appearance.
The rest of the wardrobe is in HH chalk paint in Cactus Green, which perfectly matches the parrot motif. This colour gives a natural, calm atmosphere that creates harmony between the different elements of the cabinet. The Cactus Green shade subtly enhances the beauty of the decorations, while giving the furniture a fresh and cheerful look.
The top of the cabinet was decorated with bird feather patterns, which I applied with stencils. The soft, delicate lines of these feathers exude an elegance and lightness that perfectly complements the parrot motif. The stencilled designs give a precise and detailed result that makes the furniture even more special.
The edges of the cabinet are highlighted with gold to add a subtle sense of luxury and elegance to the look. The gold highlights not only accentuate the shape of the cabinet, but also give it a subtle sheen that shimmers softly depending on the lighting conditions. The combination of gold and green creates a perfect harmony, highlighting the vintage character of the furniture.
I sealed the surface of the finished cabinet with a silk gloss parquet lacquer, which protects the paint and decorations while providing a subtle, elegant sheen. The silky sheen of the lacquer subtly highlights the texture and special details of the furniture, further enhancing its unique look.
This unique, hand-restored vintage wardrobe would make an outstanding addition to any home. Its tropical-inspired parrot pattern, elegant gold trim and natural green shades are guaranteed to bring a special character and style to any space.
