This beautiful vintage mirror owes its unique look to the rebirth of a classic blondel frame. After the base coat, I antiqued the surface with a subtle shade of grey, which I then wiped back, leaving the grey only in the recesses. This technique highlights the rich detail of the frame and creates a subtle contrast that gives the mirror as a whole an elegant, timeless look.
I have highlighted the individual decorations with gold, which gives the mirror a subtle shimmer and luxurious feel without making it look over-decorated. The gold detailing accentuates the pattern of the frame and gives the mirror a special shine, making it even more the centre of attention. The finish is sealed with a silk gloss parquetry finish, which not only protects the paintwork but also provides a subtle sheen that highlights the colours and textures of the mirror.
